PARkING lots

If you are coming by car or campervan/recreational vehicle to Lake Hornborga and wondering where you can park and what parking fees will need to be paid. You will find the information here that you will need to prepare for your visit.

Passenger cars

There are eight visitor places with parking around Lake Hornborga. Parking is free for passenger cars in all parts of the nature reserve, except at Trandansen during the crane season.

Here a fee is charged, which is used finance the feeding of the cranes. The fee is charged during the period of about four weeks from late March to mid-April. During that period, it costs SEK 30 per day to park here.

Pay the fee inside the Trandansen Info Centre. Alternatively, if you have access to the Swish app to number 123 635 79 25 (only for those with a Swedish bank account). Then write your vehicle registration number as a message. All the money goes to the feeding of the cranes.

CAMPERVANS/motorhomes – FÅGELUDDEN

There are no campground sites/camping pitches in the Lake Hornborga Nature Reserve. But you are welcome to stay with your campervan/recreational vehicle overnight in our parking areas. At Fågeludden, we charge a fee all year round. You will find Naturum Hornborgasjön and Café Doppingen here. In addition to the fantastic nature, there are also 24-hour WCs and waste sorting, but no electricity.

It is not permissible to empty motorhome toilets into the toilets.

We charge a fee of SEK 130 per night. Payment is taken inside Naturum Hornborgasjön. Alternatively, if you have access to the Swish app make the payment to number 123 543 84 11 (only for those with a Swedish bank account). Then write your vehicle registration number as a message.

There are also many other campground sites/camping pitches around the lake that offer more services in terms of access to electricity and motorhome toilet emptying. Visit Hornborga has gathered links to several of them.

CAMPERVANS/motorhomes – TRANDANSEN

It is very popular to come here with a campervan/recreational vehicle at Trandansen in the spring. Magical to both wake up and go to sleep to the cry and dance of the cranes. However, these are not real campground sites/camping pitches. However you are welcome to stay in the parking area during the night. We then charge a fee of SEK 130 per night.

Next to the Trandansen Info Centre there is a small building with 24-hour WCs and latrine emptying. Around the area you will also find several rubbish bins; these are primarily for small amounts of rubbish. If you have more household rubbish, please bring it to Fågeludden where you will find waste sorting. You park on grass and there is no electricity for campervans/recreational vehicles.

Remember to park maintaining a proper from the next campervan/recreational vehicle, preferably with space for a passenger car between you. The reason for this is to increase fire safety.

Pay the fee inside the Trandansen Info Centre. Alternatively, if you have access to the Swish app to number 123 635 79 25 (only for those with a Swedish bank account). Then write your vehicle registration number as a message. All the money goes to the feeding of the cranes.
