Welcome to
Lake Hornborga!

Lake Hornborga is perhaps Sweden’s most well-known bird lake. Every spring, thousands of cranes gather and dance here. But Lake Hornborga offers more than only crane dancing. All year round, unique nature and experiences await you here.

At Lake Hornborga, you will find two visitor centres. Naturum Hornborgasjön is the largest, and is located on the east side next to Café Doppingen. In the southern part of the lake you will find the Trandansen Info Centre, which is open when the cranes gather here in the spring. In both places you will find information about the lake and nature, WCs and parking. At Naturum Hornborgasjön you can look forward to meeting knowledgeable guides and finding a variety of activities for children.

A warm welcome to a beautiful nature reserve!

How many cranes there at the lake?

Volunteers at Lake Hornborga count how many cranes have been seen, each spring and autumn. You can learn about the statistics here.
